What I have now is a PAL Composite camera with vari-focal lens. So when the suction cup gimbal mount arrives I'll stick it to the back of the car and I can see it on the Nav display, same as the van camera I use when in motion and reverse camera when the van's not hooked up. As far as I know, Go Pro uses bluetooth and wifi, just as the CarPlay unit does - one to establish a connection and the other to do the heavy lifting on data. I haven't tried your specific use case, however never noticed an issue with my (older) go pro in the car?Quote:

I think the problem is my aftermarket Carply unit. Seems to interfere with pretty much any 2.4Ghz (Wifi & Bluetooth) connection that's close to it. Of course, having a phone or iPad on the dash board while reversing is close to the unit. I'll see how this next experiment goes, and if that fails I might put a manual disable switch on the Carplay module, same as I have on the reversing camera so I can prevent it switching to reverse camera when I have the van on the back.Quote:
