That'd be the one. So back to the drawing board.

Maybe use a suction mount? The Go-pro ones are very strong, and have a handy mount point?
Hell, you could just use a go-pro as the camera, and use the live view on your phone...
I've ordered one.
As I can't verify what RF bands the GoPro uses, I can't tell if I'd be in exactly the same situation with the Carplay box interfering. That'd be expensive guesswork.
What I have now is a PAL Composite camera with vari-focal lens. So when the suction cup gimbal mount arrives I'll stick it to the back of the car and I can see it on the Nav display, same as the van camera I use when in motion and reverse camera when the van's not hooked up. Just means I have to temporarily plug it in the van camera connector before I hitch up.
Listed my Discovery 3 for sale. I'm going to miss this forum and getting helpful quick answers the most. Ih8mud seems pretty useless in comparison [emoji29]
I think the problem is my aftermarket Carply unit. Seems to interfere with pretty much any 2.4Ghz (Wifi & Bluetooth) connection that's close to it. Of course, having a phone or iPad on the dash board while reversing is close to the unit. I'll see how this next experiment goes, and if that fails I might put a manual disable switch on the Carplay module, same as I have on the reversing camera so I can prevent it switching to reverse camera when I have the van on the back.
It has a reverse camera, plus 2 additional camera inputs. It's not a standalone head. It's a carplay box interfaced to a GVIF so it looks like a factory install on the nav screen.
I disable the reverse camera when I have the van hooked up, so I can leave the van camera on the screen while reversing.
This new camera I have should plug into the van camera connector, so I'll be able to use it when hitching up then plug the van in for the journey.
I have most of a roll of an equivalent. When I was working in Dubai this was the stuff that secured the windows in the airport. It'll pretty much stick anything to anything, however the concept of the magnet was it was removable without a crowbar or blowtorch. [bigrolf]
