Exactly. The dark tint makes it difficult for someone walking past to see that the window is open.

Plus I picked them up for about $90 or $100 posted from somewhere here in Oz. Nice

Have to confess that I was a bit dubious about the 3m tape that held the D2 ones on. I couldn’t bring myself to spend the extra for the ‘in window’ style for the D2. Buy 2 years and many pressure cleans later, they never even looked like they were going to fall off. So I had no reservations about 3m tape for this set.

Bit disappointed that they didn’t come with a couple of giant alco wipes like I thought they would. Luckily I found some lying around.

Need to live a little DJ ! The 3M tape is good too, no chance they come off, many off road adventures and car washes / pressure cleans later, still rock solid

$65 plus $19 delivery for the 4, 'cos like you and John, I didn't want the bigger/fatter versions I had on my D2. Also like others, have never had problems with any 3M double sided tape.

They look identical to mine (from what I can see from the one pic). I wouldn’t be surprised if they were all made in the same factory.

Hey John, I bought a set before this post went this way. I can guarantee they are not all the same, mine lasted 24hrs. The glue was great. They were to big and to dark. The Mrs came home from night shift this morning and said she nearly kissed a car she didn't see. She's a great driver. I took it to get fuel while she was in bed. Needed a neck like Mr squiggle to get round, a round about. Came home and pulled them off. The glue took some work.

The ones I bought were to wide (as in from the car) and the folding mirrors hit them and stalled against them.
Unfortunately for me. I bought more expensive ones thinking I was doing the right thing
