What happened to your D3/D4 today?

You had to release the shaft from wheel hub and pull the CV joint out of diff? It pops out with a pull right? Are the inside and outside CVs both captive at the rear?

Yep, half shaft needs to be removed. The outer CV is held in with the CV nut which needs to be undone. Inner CV I just got a drift in and use a light tap to pop the internal c clip in the diff.

Dogs are good for that. We split an emu in half with the D1 but when we got to our destination the station dogs left it looking like new (bar the bend in the roo bar).

I recently bought a dashmat for the D4.
Wanted it in brown, but could not get anyone to make anything but black or charcoal, even though someone on here previously managed to get a brown one on special order.
Ordered it on 8 April and bought from Accessories online in Traralgon in VIC.
Arrived today 4 May by snail mail.
BUT, would you believe it was made on the other side of the country here 10 km down the road in Welshpool by Shevron.

Unfortunately Shevron will not sell direct to the public either, or that is what I was told by them.

They do sell direct to the public - I bought my dash mat direct from them when I was in Perth 3 years ago. I also have their window sox’s for the rear doors.

This morning I swapped the two latest new tyres (on the rear) with the spares. This afternoon we drove to the Lagoon and went for a walk around surrounding streets and then drove home. Another May Day done and dusted.
