What happened to your D3/D4 today?

    Yep Bowdens Wheely Clean.

And nothing but filler and paint removes pitting.

    Ditto.

It works well and isn't overly toxic.

Installed hitch today as removed it some months ago before 4wd at a farm. Well when lying loose at the farm with key in it someone must have reversed over it because half the key is snapped off in it. Oh dear, loading up for holiday today.

Good news is that it magically works now in permanently unlocked mode. No need to find that little key anymore assuming it is not unsafe as green bit fully opens and snaps closed as normal.

Top tip - go out now and snap your key off in the unlocked position and no one will ever know

You can buy replacement green bits, I paid about $37.50 for mine. There is a spring pin that can be punched out to remove it. I pulled mine apart and gave it all a clean up, coat of paint and some grease. If you do it don't lose the ball bearing like I did.

Same deal for me (almost), bought 6 today as I want a second spare. $263 per tyre from Highway Tyres, seems they have a 4 for the price of 3 going this month.

Go all the way and fit a D4 version that doesn't have those long, weak sides and doesn't prevent the spare from being lowered.

As Graeme said. Get rid of the plough and get the smaller D4 version. Doesn’t get in the way of the spare when you lower it either

Nothing exciting but had 10 minutes spare and a 10,000km oil change due so whipped out the vac pump and did oil and filter. 280,000km.
