Thread: What happened to your D3/D4 today?

I installed my new Redarc Brake Controller using the instructions outlined in this thread

All was going well. I got nervous about cutting the brown wire as I was using a Redarc encapsulated diode (not listed in these instructions). So before finishing I jammed some wood on the brake pedal so I could see if I was connecting the correct wire (brake lights).

Unfortunately, after finishing up and now running late for school pick up, I jumped in and the car wouldn’t start! Seems with jamming the brake pedal repeatedly the pedal stiffened up and needed a firmer press to start the car.

Phew...I thought I’d really broken something! Damn electronics scared the crap out of me.

My wife's puppy Labrador wee’d on the rubber boot liner and some of it made it down to the carpet under the third row of seats. So a hour of messing around and some swearing at the dog later. I have removed the 3rd row of seats and lifter the carpet for a deep clean and a good airing session. New rule is that the dog is in crate for any trips in the car from now on, or i will have the disco and she can slum it in my ranger. Hope you all have a good weekend. Cheers.

Ewww. My rule to my kids is ‘you mess the d4 you die’. I still have 2 kids

It failed its pink slip check

Excessive play in the steering, needs new tie rod ends.

The alternator started whining so i ordered a new one. $620 for a Denso from the UK and i still may be up for GST when it lands.

Over here Densos are $1000+ !!!

Hopefully thats the last of for a while. Ive spent $3k fixing stuff in the last 6 week's

I've had a small slow leak in my air compressor setup (ARB CMK Compressor/ Traxide setup)
for a while so finally spent the time to find it and fix it. Had to drop out the tank (I've installed an OEM tank under the driver's side) and just refit an elbow with a bit more thread sealant. I think it had come loose slightly during installation. Not easy but much easier than I thought it might have been....

No new pics unfortunately but very happy to have fixed it after leaving it for quite a while.

I’ve read through the linked threads - great ideas as I’m trying to decide between an under bonnet air compressor or an under seat compressor.

From what I understand, a standard passenger side air tank will fit on the drivers side if I modify the mounting brackets on the tank? Is that correct? If so that’s great, I’d just need to pickup a 2nd hand tank

Finished packing for another camping trip.Leaving sparrow tomorrow.

Taking the grandson,for the first time,he is 5yrs old now and so excited its ridiculous.
