My beautiful new coolant is black again. Given it drives perfectly and doesn’t have signs of a head gasket, I’m guessing it’s leaking EGRs. Urgh. D4 2010 3L so replacement is the only real option, or ignore it

Tyre was a little flat ....

The front left tyre on my D4 had a slow leak, so I took it to the tyre shop - this was the culprit:

While it was on the hoist I had a look at the other tyres and found this on the back left:

So ..... it looks like someone dropped a pile of screws on the street somewhere and then I drove over them.

Wanna borrow my coolant pressure test rig? My latest trick is to drop the coolant, pump it up and then go over the potential leak points with a mechanics stethoscope. Air moves faster than liquid and makes more noise.

Nothing earth-shattering, but one of those little things that keeps reminding me how well sorted this vehicle is. May help someone else.
I had no idea. Thanks for that

As it isn’t losing coolant and the issue is likely internal I’m not sure it’ll help, but thanks.

Pretty sure. I went until it was clear, which to a very long time

It’s the EGR coolers if that’s the case which are evilly expensive. I have similar colouring coming back after oil cooler change but still hopeful it’s just a good flush and refill needed- was going to say delete but that’s not an option on the 3.0 is it?

Until the water pump craps itself or the coolant jacket in the engine gets blocked.....
