I’ll bet the servo is using an incorrect nozzle.

Oil & filter change. Didn't get time for all the other gumph pre-trip but I figured it was due in 200k and we were going to do ~800 so I might as well do it before we leave. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute and irritating the family by dismantling in the middle of the driveway while they're trying to pack the van.

I would have just done the 800 and sorted it after.

Never service a vehicle just before a trip. At minimum a week before is a good idea.

I did think about that more than once. I really should get some oil analysis done to see what condition it's in after 10,000k. I generally change at 10k or before a decent trip with the van just because I figure the thing is fragile enough without doubling the load on old oil.

My brake pedal lost its boost.

Is that it am I 100% up for a new booster?

There was a very small amount of oil in it and the pipe work was updated prior to when I purchased in 2010.

The pipe work had almost no discernible oil in it.

Fortunately the job is brilliantly covered in the Shane Shed videos and not as scary as it first looks.

Has anyone worked out a catch can or is 14 years a good enough run for any booster?

Catch can? Are you going to own it for another 14 years? Don’t bother.

Ha! True. The only plausible explanation is that micro amounts of oil get sucked past the NRV when the engine is off into the booster so the smart money would be on replacing the NRV as well but I think it comes with the pipe work as a complete replacement.
