Weekend saw the D4 do a run to Adelaide for some R&R.
Did the obligatory Bunnings trip, went and collected 2 RC Split AC systems and then a relaxing run home in pouring rain without issue.

2 full split systems, a pile of gear from Bunnings and passengers all fitted easily.

Love this vehicle! 185,000km and going strong.

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Picked up a 2nd hand snorkel at a great price. Found someone nearby with a template for it. Going to see about the install tomorrow…after a trip to the big green shed to buy some cobalt drill bits

Spotted a D3 "assuming the position" on my way into Kambalda. Stopped to see if I could assist, but they were past that and waiting for the flat-bed to get it back into Kal.

A 4L V6, they'd popped the top hose and dumped the coolant. It had been patched up but any water put in just disappeared.

Pretty sure I've seen that around town a couple of times in the past week or so.

Nice couple. They were having the greatest of difficulty trying to explain to the RAC call center in Perth where they actually were (which was at the intersection of Caves Rocks Rd so they were only a couple of Ks out).

I'm not familiar with the sound of the Petrol V6, but it didn't sound happy.

John…. Get impact driver bits (4) and use them with an impact driver. Much, much more effective.

Make sure to protect the windscreen with cardboard/rubber/tape etc. you don’t want to slip and damage anything!

Sorry Mike, I really don’t know which bits you mean. Could you post a link please?

I followed Tombie's advice and gave up on the cobalt bits - 5 minute job with the impact driver bits - any good tool place will have them if you don't know what they are.
