Turn the radio on (from off obviously) and immediately push the right knob in for about 15 seconds or so, it brings up the year your car was made, etc, if you turn that same knob you can flick through a few other things...some are undecipherable...if you then repress it again and hold it down for roughly the same amount of time it brings up a 2nd menu, this has a lot more things in it that you can change. But again rotate that knob and you eventually get to a menu that has temp, speed plus a few other things...such as voltage settings for radio things and some timers very basic but may be helpful. Just take note if you change anything, it may affect something else and you may need to change it back...

Update: doesn’t work for me on base spec stereo
    Works on the CD-465.
Hold the right knob in for 15+ seconds and the menu comes up when you release the knob. Same again to get to the second level menu.
Looking at the temp it displays, I think it's the temp of the head unit itself.

3 hours my arse. I was going strong and left drilling the A pillar until last. Must say that an air saw made quick work on clearing out the sheet metal to the air box. My new favourite air tool I think. 3 hours up to this point so feeling comfortable. Then….

    Drilling the A pillar:
Good outcome in the end...and yep, the A Pillar dual layer high tensile steel is quite the drilling challenge :-). I went through plenty of cutting fluid and pretty much all of the 5mm cobalt drill bits that I could source from the local Bunnings and Sydney Tools when I installed the snorkel on my D4. Makes sense given the mention of 50 degrees in another post with regards to beach driving. That can’t be anything on the engine

    New Pirelli Scorpion AT+ Installed

Replaced the worn Wranglers on the D4 factory 19" Alloys with a set of Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus 255/55R19 111H tyres. Got in on the good Pirelli end of calendar year deal. Took them for a 7 hour road trip on the blacktop... they seem to be quite OK in terms of road noise (not that you can tell above the wind noise from the roof rack and snorkel :-)). The MOAB 18" Rims with BF Goodridge 265/60 R18 AT KO2s are having a holiday in the shed for the time being pending the next off-road camping adventure.

BTW... I had heard a rumour that the tyre rubber compound quality of the latest BFG KO2s had been poor. Has anyone else know anything about that?

BFG quality went downhill about 15 years ago and I’m yet to see evidence it’s improved since.

Some on the Jap forums say the same.Whether there is any truth to the rumours, who knows.

But there are others that have had numerous sets and had no issues, same here. The ones on the LC are two years old, done around 40,000Km,no issues either.
They are difficult to balance, some tyre shops say,but i have never had that problem. They did drone at times on the D4,but not on the LC.
I was going to go Nitto instead last time but none were available.
Been using Wildpeak on the work vehicles, seem pretty good so far much better than the Bridgestone crap they came with, but some sizes dont have a very high load rating.
Maxxi 811 get good reviews as well, and have pretty high load ratings, might give them a go next or Wildpeaks.

Pulled off the drive and noticed it felt rough as guts, got out and found that i'd got a nail in my nice new wildpeak .
spare tyre wasnt fitted yet so had to stop in the middle of my court and swap to one of the old set of 265/60/18 so i could at least reverse back without killing the tyre.
Quick run up with the spare and had that spitted and dropped off the other for the repair, i could have plugged it but being new and only a tiny hole i'd rather get it patched properly.

Quick transfer case and transmission oil change today. I only got about 3.5l back into the thing. Didn't do the filter this change. I'm changing the oil at 40k and filter at 80k as per a suggesting by the auto expert I use.

Also used a a turtle wax headlight restore kit on the front..I should have put more time into them.. But they look great.. The only problem with the kit is you get enough lubricant and compound for about 6 lights but only enough base cleaner and sealer for 2!

Price was right $40 from SCA

Good idea, as technically d.i.y. plugs are only a temporary repair/for off road use.
