Confirmed one of my EGR coolers has failed and it is soot in my coolant. The next step is to see if we can find some secondhand ones given the new price is $1800 each from LR.
If I had the time I’d delete the things but my Indy won’t do that (obviously) and I need the car fixed.

Last time I checked, the egr delete was around A$600 for the coding.
Low coolant message followed shortly after by shutdown and ….
Confirmed as melted/ toasted, failed water outlet… engine replacement
D4, 2016 , month after belts and transmission fluid change

So sad to hear this type of failure is still occurring. In Dazza’s latest ‘things to worry about’ video only this week he expressly mentions these commonly fail after a belt change due to the levering on a 7 year old item to remove hoses hence always change at same time. Any experienced LR repairer should know that risk just like the oil pump tensioner fail. Crazy damage for such a cheap item.
Surely there’s a chance it was caught in time if low coolant alarm was noticed? Fingers crossed Sadsadcoolant.

Checked and cleared the rear sunroof drains, one was blocked solid and one was dry and clear.
Still got the front drivers side to do which is a pain to reach if you have a snorkel.
