Road Worthy Check & 3rd Row Seats Question

    Hi Team,
Having returned from our 71/2 months on the road completing our 27,000km Western Half Lap, having spent 6 months tackling the 26,000km Eastern Half Lap from Tassie to Cape back in 2021.... change is now upon us and I have just put our Disco 4 on the market along with a set of 18" MOAB Alloys with KO2s, and our POD Trailer will soon follow. For the Disco sale, I will need to undertake a Roadworthy Inspection.

The question is, for that inspection, do I need to reinstall the 3rd Row seats that I 'temporarily' removed when I undertook our full camping setup and installation of Drawers, Fridge and Cargo Barrier back in 2020, in order to get the RW cert? I have read through some of the forum comments on this from the past, including some Vic Traffic info, but wondering if anyone else has had some recent experience on this?

    Cheers,
    Naps

Quick vac and top up on the AC today.
Over the weekend HVAC performance was most disappointing with an ambient 38° only being arrested back to 27° at the Evaporator

high side pressures showed way too low.

Quick job this morning to evac the system and then recharge.

Must be some of that good 134a (jk) as the evap temp now running a crisp 1.5° and all is good inside the cabin again!

Next job is to replace the control valve on the RRS 3.0 and get that unit back up and running.

For a Victorian RWC, yes, you need all the seats fitted.

I would just tell them the seats are all there if you want to remove the lot for inspection

Thanks Tony and Loanrangie... I'll have a chat to the guys where we have had previous inspections done... see what they will 'allow'. In the end it is probably easiest to reinstall the seats...the drawers can still be installed again, all you lose is space under the drawers... all you gain is another 45kg in dead weight ;-).

I believe in Vic you can advise Vic Roads that the third row seats have been permanently removed and the vehicle details will be changed from 7 seats to 5. Note that the seatbelts must also be completely removed. Not sure if the vehicle needs to be inspected, but a quick phone call or visit should clarify that.

Thanks, Yes I had read that also... but at this stage I want to sell the vehicle as 'intact' as possible. Just looking to cross the RWC hurdle as smoothly as possible.

Yep, mine neither. Made by Anderson Manufacturing in USA. Thanks for the heads up on replacing the 70mm with in my case a proposed DO35

Checked with our local garage. They have no issue performing the RWC without the 3rd row seats... they just need to know that I still have the seats and that they could be reinstalled.

    Magic stuff that refrigerant

Unfortunately the system probably has a leak somewhere.
