I'd never recommend one to a mate, but having 8 years of the D3 under my belt I'm confident enough in being able to keep one running myself and she really, really wants one. The 3.0 is just too much risk for me though.
I’m sorry for your loss, in advance.

I have just had it roadworthy and the mechanic said it was the cleanest Landrover he had ever roadworthed as far as oil leaks were concerned.

I took the D3 up to Crows Nest yesterday and the Seventeen Mile dirt road was much improved as they'd put a grader through to knock the tops off the corrugations, but haven't fixed the ruts and potholes. Perseverance Dam was still/again spilling into Lake Cressbrook.

None of our LRs have any leaks.

It certainly had some oil leaks when i had it,some fixed under warranty, others done later in it's life.

It was actually knocked getting a roadworthy due to oil leaks, the guy who sorted them must have done a great job.

My D3 paid a visit to the transmission people today. I'm now awaiting their 'Worst Scenario' quote.

1000km via Eyre Hwy down to Point Culver and Bilbunya Dunes. Heading home via Israelite Bay and Esperance. Incredible part of the world. Have not seen another group since leaving Eyre Hwy.

I attempted that very same trip leading up to Easter this year. My mate's idea, but we had to pull out at Toolinna Cove because his new to him 2021 Prado 150 developed a DPF issue that required a dealer reset in Esperance.
    My D4 performed flawlessly.
We'll have to go back next year.
