    I’ll almost 100% guarantee it’s:
    - overloading
    - slamming it
    - pulling handle too hard
That happened in the first 9 years of ownership Your Honour. The latch was quite loose when we bought it.

Removing the glovebox hinge pins appears to be one of the most complex maintenance tasks possible requiring a very specific tool.

Can't be that much harder than getting the top bolt back in the suspension compressor.

Not cheap for something you could have done at home in the driveway.

For workshop rates that's I think that's "pretty reasonable". For hours it's probably not too far off by the time you book in, out and do the paperwork.
$260 for a job you didn't want to do yourself doesn't sound excessive.

I paid a workshop some ~$1500 to replace my clutch at $175/hr. Yeah, I could have done it at home in the driveway, but at the end of the day I just didn't really want to.

Sometimes it's worth it to pay someone else to do it for you, especially when you walk away with a workshop warranty.

I could do all my services as well but these days would rather do what I do and pay my grease monkey to do what he does, he does everything on my D4 and it runs like clockwork and every item is done well with the bonus of me not loosing skin or getting dirty hands
    money well spent IMO
