The adaption procedure should have been done so that it worked as it should immediately. Resetting adaptions alone is only half the job.

Yeah I’d not have done an adaption reset when collecting my refurbished gearbox. One assumes it’s ready to rock and roll. Was the refurbishment place a certified ZF agent?

Changed the oil in the front diff of the D4.
I used Penrite Pro Gear GL5 75W-85 oil.
The fill spec is 610mL.
I used an oil syringe to deliver the oil, however it makes a slightly messy job of it, with multiple syringe fills etc whilst under the car.
I see that the Penrite “Little Mate” low volume oil pump is on sale at Autobarn for $19. Need to pre measure the oil, but may be cleaner.
best wishes, Jeff.

Yes, nowhere as noticeable as the fronts get but it was measurable.
I also did the bushes in the knuckle.
Problems were faced - the bloody Laser tool was incorrectly supplied and the cup was smaller than the damn bush it was meant to recieve! Luckily a mate has a lathe and problem soon sorted and bushes changed!
I’ve fitted the RRS components…
Well… the rest of this week hasn’t gone quite to plan!
I turned the D4 around and put it nose in the workshop (I have too much stuff in there so have to shuffle around a bit at the moment (being sorted).
Intention to upgrade front rotors/callipers, fit front brake lines. Then move onto doing the cooling system - replace coolant inlet on side of block, new hoses, disconnect EGR plumbing etc…
Well….
Get the LHF wheel off, start doing brakes - hmmm what have I forgotten to order? Ahh. The bloody mud shields to suit the larger rotors… doh!😫
Put wheel back together and put vehicle away. Go online and order backing plates…
And then wake up in the morning like I’ve been hit by a truck - well not quite - just Influenza A…. 😢
So I’ve been bed ridden for the last 3 days (I preferred having Covid, it hurt less)
In the meantime backing plates have arrived, so when I’m feeling better I’ll get into the jobs.
