A torx bit in a ratchet spanner works well with some plastic bag to stop the bit falling out.
Monitor carefully for fuel leaks on the hp side. I had a persistent leak after took several goes and making of a special tool to get it to seat. Very hard to get a spanner on it. I cut a ring spanner in half then slotted it for pipe so you could get a better nip on tightening with 12 points.

I used new pipes on the HP side, torqued them up in 2 steps per the manual and they sealed 1st time. $55 each off the shelf.
Edit : Where did you find the pump? I thought they were vaporware these days.

Seems there’s been a covid catchup now. Everything was ‘on back order’ when I was lucky enough to find one but seem back in stock now.Originally Posted by BradC;[emoji639
Mate, that's 6.1% of what I paid for my new one. If it goes for more than a couple of years you are way ahead.

Even if it doesn't, sounds like a winner to me. I'd do it all over again for $95.

Well, not today, but Monday.
I sold it. After 12 great years and 200k km.
Probably in the top 3 vehicles I’ve owned over the last 50 years.
Quiet, comfortable, powerful, and surprisingly reliable.
Only issues weren’t unexpected - LCAs and intake manifolds, and I just considered these as part of the maintenance program.
What I was offered for it as a trade-in was insulting, and sold it privately for 2.5 times that.
After much consideration of all the options out there, I’ve gone back to Toyota, a LC300, for better or worse.
So thanks to all on AULRO, for information and advice over the years. It’s a great forum, and I’ll still be lurking and reading for a while yet.
