Similar! I’ll reverse it out the driveway onto the road and park it up to get the Defender out in about an hour.

New D90 owner will then drive off and the D4 will then head into the workshop for its 230,000km service.

I got the new lower coolant hose from LR - paid local LR tax too - ouch. So new left hand block outlet, new hose on that side. This allowed me to fit the new AC compressor and refit the power steering pump and all the turbo pipework. It’s a marvel of packaging in there, that’s for sure. All heat shields back in place. New aux drive belt fitted.

Now waiting on the new radiator to arrive, to be fitted to the rad pack with a new condenser and drier, then think about squeezing all of that back into the car. That was not easy to remove but this time I’ll have gravity on my side.

When I recently replaced the a/c condensor, I sat the coolant radiator and I/C pack on the chassis rails just behind the mounts and leaning back then slipped the condensor down into place to be bolted to the pack, avoiding the risk of damaging the new condensor. The fuel cooler radiator was installed once the radiator pack was on the mounts.

Good tip, thanks Graeme. I found it so difficult the get the pack out as the mounts are wider than the opening on the body so a lot of angled extraction was needed. Of only they’d made a couple of small notches in the body, the pack could simply lift straight out. (It wasn’t helped by the hose I didn’t realise was still connected What happened to your D3/D4 today?)
