I don't think you've said what engine it is, but assuming it's the 2.7L Lion TDV6 motor (might be the same/similar for the 3.0L TDV6/SDV6 motors but I'm not sure), two things to ad from me:
1. The torque spec is 10Nm. See DISCO3.CO.UK - View topic - 2.7 TDV6 LR073372 Water Outlet Assembly torque specs? for further details and the relevant sections of the workshop manual.
2. Replacement units only include two out of three of the required o-rings. LR don't offer the third individually. From what I've read for those that replace it without replacing that third o-rings either have immediate leaks or leaks that start shortly after. I'm advised that you can get the o ring from Citroen/Peugeot, part number 198171 but haven't tested that myself yet.

Rear 1316152 - two required
Front LR008353
Again, not sure if the same or different for other T/SDV6 variants.

Nice. Who makes and how much?

I would assume the only likely failure point on that could be the o-rings. As mentioned above one of the three is available from Peugoet/Citroen spare parts. Is there a replacement source for the other two if ever needed?

The billet unit has 4 seals.

A BS211 Viton on the Cooler
2 custom jobs - available as spares from LR etc on the bottom outlets
1 larger print between the 2 pieces that I haven’t measured. Will be a standard size.

Tombie, is that white paint on the vacuum hose into the block behind your new billet coolant outlet or is the outer sheath damaged?

Is that a seal between the water outlet and the engine oil cooler setup? I haven't worked on the TDV6 other than a basic oil change service so not overly familiar with how it is all setup and laid out.
This might be the Citroen/Peugeot, part number 198171 o-ring then? It would be much easier to get a generic viton BS211 than going to Peugoet/Citroen spare parts. I assume that the same seal would be used between the billet unit and plastic so BS211 would also work with the genuine plastic units too when replacing.

They look like a nice bit of kit. It's a pit that they're ten times more expensive than a replacement genuine Land Rover plastic unit.


I assume those two open pipes above are where the throttle body outlets to? Does that mean that two 1316152 rear throttle body seals and one LR008353 front throttle body seal are also required for this replacement job?

Thanks Scott for sharing that find, but they're more than double the price of genuine Land Rover units exUK. Thanks to Tombie providing the o-ring size part number my local bearing shop will either have that o-ring in stock or quickly get it in. Makes replacement a quick and easy job now and half the price of that while still using a genuine Land Rover unit.
At a $125.00 for the unit I'd definitely just spend the extra for the billet aluminium setup rather but at only $60.00 it's hard to justify.
