That’s why you go Honda. It just works
I had the opposite experience with a Victa, it wouldn't stop..I tried to pull the plug lead off. I was 10, it bit me like an anoconda. I never looked at it the same again

True..I was given one that sat 10 years next to a dam...Aussie pump was toast and muffler and starter cord was gone. Put petrol in and fixed starter and 5 pulls later it ran. It still does 4 years on...on a compresser tank.
Best one we had was an 8hp slasher..easy to start with inbuilt decomp system..ran like a clock for over 10 years b 4 we sold it. Could have sold it a 100 times too.

Supporterthanks Josh, I’m home now and removed everything that is suspicious to me. And while it’s too early to say if the problem is gone I feel really confident you may have nailed it..
around the time the problem started I bought a cheap phone cradle which plugs into the cigarette lighter and gives my phone wireless charging. Yes, I’m lazy and like to not have cords
ive read a bit about this yesterday and it seems it’s a common problem with new iPhone chargers operating on qi technology.
Can’t believe this is probably it. So simple, makes me feel very silly

+1 and a Bluetooth transceiver that let's me stream music from my phone through the aux input - no issues ever with key not found, the car let's me know about every 2 years that the fob battery is low and thats when I replace that battery. Even if I walk away from the car with the key, it says "smart key not found", but as soon as back in the car it picks up the key again. I reckon fob battery health has a lot to do with it.
Blue tooth is fine, the keys operate on RF I believe. One device can be different to another.
If the frequency is close enough it will squash the keys ability to communicate.
The car actively looks for the key, the noise generated from the foreign device impedes the cars ability to see the key correctly. Therefor no start
