And my minimum is set below 22psi.

If I air down below that I just silence the alarm. If the value changes again the alarm will go off.

The biggest problem on a D4 is that a tyre can go flat on the rear at speed and you won’t know it - the rebar that’s went through my LHR at lets say 110km/h flattened the tyre but it was undetectable at speed on the highway.

By the time I’d slowed down enough for it to become obvious the tyre was destroyed internally.

Even if I was running Birdsville track at 18psi at 110km/h (wouldn’t happen) the tyre will still hold out.
I have experienced this on both the RRS and the D4. The D4 had factory TPMS and I got to it quickly. The RRS I only noticed when I went to get back in at the carpark. Luckily I had only driven a short distance. This thread has reminded me to get a TPMS to monitor car and caravan.

Mine's the same as Safety Dave's with a different brand sticker and a lower price tag and the 8-wheel system came with the trailer/van amplifier. It hasn't saved me any money yet although it recently alerted me to a soft tyre while reversing from my carport seconds after start-up even though no details were yet shown for the other tyres. The tyre (RL) didn't look soft but confirmed by my pressure gauge. I have the TPMS in case it can save a tyre when away from civilisation or when towing the van. I only occasionally check the display, preferring to rely on the alarm.

Right. Thanks everyone. Safety Dave it is. You can’t argue with so many happy people!

Just be aware that alarms aside, the Safety Dave version cycles through each the connected wheels in sequence rather than showing all of the temps and psi at the same time. Should not be an issue unless you are totally anal, but a slightly different setup to that shown for Tombie etc.

I'm still super happy with mine.

It will jump immediately to the tyre with the problem though.

So got myself another for the Defender.
The eBay one you have looks to be a good unit Tombie.

Do you get the wheels rebalanced with the sensor caps fitted? Or is it not needed?

I haven’t bothered before and never noticed it.
