A question for the D4 owners who have purchased either the MOAB or TuffAnt 18” Alloys to replace either their 19” or 20” rims, has anyone had any issues with either brand? I note that the TuffAnts are rated at 1050kg and the Moabs at 980kg.
Any real life experiences with either of these two different model wheels would be appreciated.

Still haven't put them on in anger yet. They are all sitting in a container on my property. We were planning on doing a 6 month trip into the desert in WA starting in April but that went by the wayside. I was less than 1/2 way worn on the Maxxis on my 19" rims so I just kept them on for the moment. Managed to get away to QLD but staying mostly on blacktop towing the van. May as well wear the Maxxis' out at the moment and swap over next year if we are able to do the WA trip then.

Had mine put on with BFG 265/65R18’s - agree with Naps they look great but the true off-road load test still to come. Had some minor rubbing at lowest LLMS setting but nothing a heat gun and rubber mallet didn’t solve..
Briar, I think that there are going to be a whole host of people just waiting to be able to launch out onto road trips across Oz. I'm in a similar boat, the OEM Goodyear Wranglers still have a way to go before they need to be swapped out... so will bide my time doing research :-) pending the time when things open up again.

I've just put MOAB's on my D4 with Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus in 265/60R18. They fit well with no rubbing.
However, the spare tyre is a very, very tight fit.
The guys at the tyre shop were starting to panic when I arrived to pick it up, however, removing the tow assembly, and carefully angling the tyre allowed it to go into place ok.
They've been offroad a couple of times, no problems so far...

The spare has to be parallel to where it sits as it goes up, so sloping down at the front rather than horizontal.

Only way to store the 265/65R18 / BFG KO2 spare is if it’s deflated - even then it’s still bloody tight.
Flat Spare - there’s got to be a joke in their somewhere!
Got onboard compressor so will pump when needed.
Posted recently on the US Landrover Forum and provides some good points for consideration.

An interesting read and he has researched quite a lot of details on different rims and tyre sizes, however I don’t agree with to many of his findings or his solution which is not legal in Australia given he ends up using wheel spacers.
One thing to keep in mind when reading posts from the USA regarding either D3/4’s is they don’t have diesels, they only have V8 petrol models so their Disco’s don’t have the smaller diameter brake rotors that 2.7 litre diesel models do which allows 17” rims. At least one AULRO member previously fitted the smaller rotors and disc’s from a D3 to his V8 D4 so he could fit 17” rims in the past. This is a good off road option but whether or not it is legal is another story.
