I think the Nissen oil cooler is OEM
If I recall from when I did it the PCV container is removed to gain access only. It has two large inlets (one for each side of the block for oily pressurised air, a vent out for ‘cleaned’ air plus a return oil drain to return collected oil.

I tested mine and it flowed fine. I haven’t heard of them failing like VW where they clamp shut and pressurise.

No I never touched the steel hp lines just the flexible low pressure hoses that clip on be careful the heat from the engine had cooked mine and they just broke to bits. I never cut the inlet off either I remember I was pretty agressive getting the seperator out having to push pull and pry it a fair but you will also lose a bit of coolant and oil when you in bolt the cooler take your time with clean rags cleaning everything up before re assembly I used a vacuum cleaniner to suck up all the brittle and broken wireing split tube to avoid it getting in to an oil gallery

Well I must have been tired or something last night - got the PCV unit out with much less effort than I thought. Mostly all back together for the moment apart from a broken clip on a fuel line. Will have to see what I can sort out for a replacement in the morning
