Had 3 seperate vehicles have a brake hose blow.
One approaching a red at a busy intersection.
One pulling up behind another vehicle,
One coming down the Pichi Richi pass.

If you honestly think you can tell signs of wear in a rubber hose from external examination you are kidding yourself.

That attitude is a danger to you, your occupants and anyone driving around you.

Rubber used in brake lines is still the exact compound it was 30 years ago.

I just had full flush/service at 120Km, the filter pan assembly, fluid at $75/L transmission additive.

Total $1550. Don't know if this is good bad or ball park, the filter pan assembly was $550

In sunny Melbourne of course...

Full flush and steel pan with new filter should cost around 1600 - 1800 bucks max if you get it done at a reputable indie. Much cheaper if you diy. Don't see the point of a partial flush, you are not getting all the crud out by any stretch of the imagination, just adding nice new fluid to already tired and contaminated fluid to make more contaminated fluid.

Do it once and do it properly: Full drain, rebuild valve body while you're at it, new solenoids etc. Cost me about 1200 all up with zf separator plate, solenoids, BMW pan and penrite bmv fluid. No issues with the transmission since.
