A number of people are saying it makes a huge difference to acceleration but does it specifically improve the off-the-line lag you get with the 3.0L in particular and ideally when mated to the 8 speed?

It does with the 6 speed so I imagine it would for the 8. Having said that i noticed a big difference between my 6 vs a friends 8 speed to the point that i didn't think his would need it. And mine is 3.0 with a tune vs his without. But i normally granny mine around town so i think it had just learnt to be lazy.
Really, the tune livened mine up considerably, very little if any lag.It had heaps of lag before it got the tune.Actually bloody dangerous if you were not careful, particularly taking offf when a bit of go was needed, such as at a roundabout.
I think mine was a BAS tune, but not sure.
+1 to Jeff..
After using it I feel like I could have just been more aggressive.. Which feels bad when your doing it. I found that I love u2 mode. Any more is to much. Any less is not enough
Auto mode is to abrupt for me and hard to park.
We have a particular round about at home I have been stalling up for to get through(left foot brake, right foot 1500rpm).. That's what I bought it for and I'm happy.. I'll probably store the head under the dash and never touch it.
