    270 Awning & Roof Ladder clash

    Hi All

    I have a Darche 270 Awning and now want to add a roof rack ladder to my rhino rack - anyone come up with a wizzbang idea how to stop them clashing when the tailgate is opened - other that mount the awning higher because I only just fit in the garage door as it is..

    I have a 270 degree Drifta awning. I also have the Rhino Rack folding ladder. The ladder brackets are mounted on the platform on the drivers side of the vehicle. I carry the ladder folded in the tunnel boot of the caravan when towing, but put it on platform if just taking vehicle. The folding ladder helps immensely to climb up onto the platform and for assisting when sliding second spare or case onto rack.

    Like Tombie said. Worked for my 270 Drifta awning, rhino rack combo. Ladder now sits just outboard of the awning cross piece.

    I have a Howling Moon 270 degree awning and Front Runner ladder and they clash.
    When I need to open the rear door completely I move the highlighted arm slightly to the left.
    I have some pinchweld (Clark Rubber) to stop scratching.
    Moving the arm left makes some slack so I run a long bungee chord between the first pole and the roof rack to tension the awning.
    You end up with a slight sag between pole one and the vehicle.
    The only time I need to fully open the the rear door is to access the fridge. Normally I open the door until it rests against the arm. Hench the pinchweld.Awning.jpg

    Thanks all - will try Tombies suggestion and move the roof rack forward a bit. Hope it doesn’t increase the wind noise.

    Not looking forward to it because I absolutely HATE 🤬 those Rhino Rack swivel nuts 🤮 for mounting the rack to the upright.
