D4 ride vs Range Rover Sport

Since the L320 is based on the D4, including the EAS, does the ride feel similar to the D4 or is it firmer / rolls less / etc?

Actually based on the D3 and updated about the same time the D4 came out - no 8 speed though.

Ride is a little firmer, afterall it is the sporty model rather than a fridge on wheels.

Firmer and a little more pitch/twist due to 10” of missing wheelbase.

For a tow vehicle I’d always go the D4 over the RRS

L320 is firmer and also 6 speed (D4 is 8 speed)

L320 also comes in a 3.6/4.4 TDv8 where the D4 is missing this option. (only important depending upon what your seeking/using it for)

From what I understand, for the most part they are exactly the same and interchangeable with some tuning differences - but...

    - active roll bars were available on the l320 although not sure if this was in Australia.
    - L320 was updated to the 8 speed (euro emissions) but not in oz- standard
40 series tyres definately mean a harder ride although not anywhere near "harsh"

With the same tyres the differences should be minor

The 4.4 TDv8 did not get into the L320 but it did get supercharged versions of the petrol V8s.

It would have been great if they did put it in - just as it would have been great to have the 3.6 TDV8 in the D3/4 - contrary to popular opinion they do fit.

OK thanks all - reason is that I like the way the D4 rides (compared to our other cars) but something a little smaller would be sensible for my current uses, and I've seen some decent L320s around the traps.
