    Metallic noise and loose hub

And remember ‘due to accelerated failure of front wheel bearings’ drive shaft hub nut torque is 230Nm not 340Nm as it previously was pre 2010.

Also diff and TC rebuild bearing kits are available. You don’t need to buy a new one.

Assume this means new wheel bearing?

Ok so I dropped the front diff oil, pretty black looking with black stuff stuck to drain plug, didn’t feel like metal thou, suppose it must have been if it was stuck to magnet.
Rear cv ( I’m hoping that’s what it’s called, closest to diff) rollers seemed ok, no chunks of broken metal like I have experienced with other vehicles.
So now I’m unsure wher to look.
New hub was fitted, I destroyed rear boot so have to wait to get a new one.
If I remove the front boot is there bearing/rollers at the wheel side as well?
    All help appreciated

Also check the shims ( ? ) on the brake pads haven't moved and are scraping on the disc. I had a similar noise and in the end i could see just a fine groove on the front passenger disc where the shims had been contacting. Had to loosen the caliper and reseat the shims that hold the pads.

They are the little metal things that are shaped like a U the pad slots into. ( discribing that from memory so could be a bit out )

Passenger side changed exactly a week later, again at Craig’s workshop for which I am extremely grateful especially considering it really didn’t want to come off the spline. I would not have been able to do it myself without his hydraulic extractor and of course the larger hammer. I ordered from UK taking the punt that this would be quicker to Albany compared to east coast.
