The Disco 4 can be done. I have a 2.7, had the EGR blanked and ECU reprogammed. That was 80,000km ago and ive had no further issues

D4 3.0 has two egrs and they are integrated into the ecu as well as the cooling system. They can be mapped out and blanked, but requires a fair bit of mods to the ecu.

Even if mapped out, they can still cause coolant leaks.

I've thought about mapping them out, but decided against it for the above reason. 211000km and still on original valves. I regularly check them for free activation and any coolant leaks. Happy to report no issues. I did re-seal the flanges into the top of the valves last December.

To be fair if the 2.7 valves were that reliable I'd still be using them. I only mapped them out and blanked them because they were repeat offenders and I didn't want to be out bush and trying to pull a van back in limp mode on the bump stops.

240k kms and still on original egrs TDV6 2.7

Still number one priority to delete them and coolers. Hopefully a new video idea for Shane.

My guess is a regular long trip helps a lot rather than city driving

Yep, and a good use of the right foot once in a while to get the cobwebs out, 3500rpm cleans it out nicely.

So glad mine doesnt have a dpf, those are known culprits for blocking everything

Same here, though I do feel a little guilty when I read the emissions sticker in the engine bay…
