    Disco 4 trolley jack

    Hey guys
Would an 1800 kg trolley jack be suitable to lift both fronts or rears off the deck to set up for stands?
If so what height is suitable ?
    Thank you

Can be done, but usually a 1.8 trolley doesnt have the height reach to get the wheels off the ground. I know mine doesnt. Capacity wise no problem. Car weighs 2.8 t total, so lifting the back end will see 1.4t on the jack (assuming 50/50 weight distn.) Rated capacity is 1.8t so still within its limits. Again, assuming jack is in good working order.

Just wanted to clarify, unlikely to be lifting both rear or both front wheels at the same time, so lifting each corner sees about 700kg on the jack.

Do yourself a favour and get the Toolpro 3.0t low profile trolley jack from SCA. Has the reach height and the 2 stage pump cylinders make it quick and easy.

Currently around $230bucks, thats good value.

Went to a tire shop the other day. They put the shop jack under the diff and they weren’t able to get both back wheels off the ground for to the crazy wheel travel. I don’t imagine that a super cheap jack would be better than a workshop grade jack

I have the 3 tonne super cheap Jack and it’s brilliant. It gets it off the ground easily and up to an incredible height, so sadly you’re mistaken.

I hear what your saying but I physically watched the tyre guy fail to lift my 2013 off the ground. The jack actually topped out before both wheels lifted off the ground. He swore, put the car down and jacked it under the control arms instead

Another +1. I have the Supercheap jack and it works. You can keep arguing but you now have 2 people that *actually* have one and can both lift their D3/4s off the ground. So I hear what you say, but either your workshop has a jack without enough lift, or there is an "operator error".
