    Tire removal from rim.

    Anyone had any luck removing a tire from a factory 18" rim at home using irons, time to get my spare rims painted ready for new boots.

    If the rims are anything like those on the D2's take them into the tyre joint and get them done

    Have you thought about taking it to a tyre store? Last time I changed a cut tyre to a new one cost $20 although it's probably more nowadays.

    Take it to a shop. You'll be one of the first in Australia to get it off at home if you're successful.

    Yeah i think the beads might be pretty tight on these rims but thought i'd ask anyway and would rather just pay one fee when i get new tires fitted, if the tires weren't good i'd just get the angle grinder and cut them off.

    There is a particular point where one starts breaking the bead. Scouse posted about this a while back. Is it next to the valve or opposite it?

    I removed the 12" tyres from the wheels on my Haflinger - had to have a long long rest after - never again. I would not even contemplate a Disco tyre. Pay someone to do it.

    Go to a tyre shop. Air pressure to remove is over 50psi on a tyre machine, it would be a huge effort to remove manually and will result in damaged persons and rims.

    Re-seating is even harder.

    Tyre shop charges around $60 per rim to remove tyres. Its included in the cost of new tyres of course, but if they're not selling tyres they dont really want to do it.
