Advice needed for EAS fault - C1A36

I've been getting intermittent EAS faults of U0421 - Invalid data received from ride level control module. This clears mostly on a re-start or with the Nanocom.

Now getting C1A36 - Exhaust valve and the keep below 50km/h warning on the dash.
Only information from Nanocom is those 2 words - 'Exhaust valve' - is there anywhere else to look?

Have done the usual research here and elsewhere and at a loss to know next steps.
    - 2013 D4 HSE 3.0 SDV6
    - compressor was replaced 2 years ago by LR when I was getting the slow pressure rise errors - probably 20k driven since then and all on highway.
    - I have a Llams unit which I have bypassed and still getting both the above problems

Also have found an air compressor exhaust valve part LRO75760 on line - not too expensive compared to a new compressor which I am hoping is not required.42F98EB8-BC8A-4127-A0CE-D86A518258DB.jpg383DE4A8-8467-4B4E-B272-D0FAA518EFF7.jpg

I'm about to pull the compressor out and start looking - any leads greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Most of the time it’s not the exhaust valve but the dessicant canister that’s turned to dust and blocking the ability for the compressor to exhale/exhaust. Disassemble the dessicant canister and check for clogged filters / powdery dessicant.

As a temporary fix you can separate out the good beads from the dust and rejuvenate them in a mild temp oven for an hour or so. Take the filters and blow them out/wash them to get them flowing again. I did this successfully before a complete rebuild.

So, is the powdery desiccant a time based degradation (subject to extraordinary abuse of course)?

desiccant degrades over time. Humidity and moisture plays a significant role in determining that time. If you live in humid climate it wont last as long. As I understand it, the compressor pulls air from inside the cab so if you tend to drive with windows open and/or if you turn the AC off it will degrade faster. Also things like leaks into the car (eg from the sunroof drain) will increase the humidity/moisture and shorten desiccant life.

John, my 4x4 air seals kit for the exhaust valve turned up today, I just finished fitting it.

It came with a new bag of desiccant and filters. I changed mine last service and don't need them. I didn't need the exhaust valve kit either actually. I just bought it because I needed the discharge valve so I thought I would just do the whole compressor, 3 weeks ago I did filters, piston rings etc.

If you want the desiccant and filters in a hurry I'll happy post them to you and you can replace them later on. No rush. I won't need them for another 50,000ks. It's an easy job. Follow their you tube series.

Just pm me and I'll call you if your stuck

much appreciated. I found their site yesterday and the excellent how-to videos. Have ordered the kit and might take you up on your kind offer.

I sent you a pm. Hopefully you have the different exhaust valve then me.. They send you both seal kits for each type. Mine was the shoulder type. If yours is the tapered you can have the seal kit for that too

    Hi Guys
Can I ask what the company is that you got your compressor kits and dessicant from?
I'm having a problem trying to go to Access height and another kind member suggested clearing out the exhaust valve. I'm a 2006 L319 with 360k on it so I expect I have something like sand in the drying canister

If I'm going to clean up the canister I might as well pull the compressor and the valve block and clean it up and redress both with new seals and o rings I expect, hence trying to find somewhere reputable to get the parts needed

    Many thanks
    Grant

Try these ones: Land Rover Discovery 3 4 Range Rover Sport Air Compressor Repair Kit Hitachi & End Cap

Note this for the Hitachi brand compressors, which what I think you will have in your L319
