Checked that all bolts were fitted, managed to remove the offending trim clip with a coat-hanger, the snorkel box soon resumed its correct shape against the mudguard.
Wish mine was the same problem, but it came like that (bowed) new in the package.

The back of the snorkel (the bit that sits flush against the mudguard) has a 20 mm concave bow in it and all but one of the through bolts can't be married up with their nuts - and guess who threw out all of the paperwork and emails a couple of weeks ago!!!!
    Pic?

I doubt it - it's worst bowed left to right along the raised horizontal V section that slots into the mudguard reverse V if that makes sense. There is also a lesser north to south bow. I did think of making up a brace and slowly tightening up on appropriate studs, but reckon the studs would pull through with the sorts of forces I'd anticipate being required.

Off for a week in the morning to Coalseam to see the wildflowers and then grandies in Kalbarri with the brick in tow.

Apply some heat whilst using a brace to pull it back.

(Depends on how far off it is of course)

Just to close this thread off, it turned out all I had to do is make up some braces and carefully tighten up against the imbedded nuts.

I suspect the unit got compressed in transit, because despite the apparent rigidity, it was quite easy to pull the offending face out enough to connect everything up. Didn't even need the warming sun to make the face revert to and retain its original shape.
