Yeah I’ve had zero issue with RDA. I will be replacing my rears with them and Akebono soon. The lack of dust from them is amazing.

I ended up with RDA rotors (RDA7468D Slotted) and non OEM pads (Not sure what brand - receipt only quotes a generic part number). I experienced brake fade under heavy braking .... coming down through hill country for example. Within a week I started developing a shudder. This progressed to the point that the car was almost undrivable. No questions asked, the mechanic replaced the rotors but to no avail, as I had the same problem within a few days.

I'd read great reports about the DBA T3 rotors, so I asked Gary if he could source some. Never looked back. The non OEM pads still appear to be the week link, with a bit of squeaking at low speed and quite a bit of dust.....and still a bit of fade but nowhere near as bad as before. The T3s are still in great nick years later.

So, it's interesting that a couple of guys on here are reporting no issues with RDA equipment. Bad batch maybe?

Either way, I'll stick with the T3s and source an alternate pad when the time comes.

    Cheers,

    Kev.
Yes .. those are the type of problems I'd like to avoid.
I've ordered a set of T3's and still looking for pads to suit .. but I'm leaning towards Akebono ceramics.

It's a tough one. I don't like nay saying products unless they are clearly rubbish. To be honest until this topic came up, I hadn't researched RDA at all. There are plenty of very similar stories to mine on the Googles and there are plenty of happy customers.

One guy on a Skyline site, who was affiliated with RDA (he stated as much) stated that it was rarely the rotors but other bits of kit being unserviceable or needing cleaned. He also said a big one was usually over tensioning of the wheel. In my case I doubt it was any of those things, as it was all new brake kit and worked perfectly with the BDAs.

So as I said ... maybe a bad batch .... it happens. Who knows.

    Cheers,

    Kev.
