I have imported Akebono ceramic and used RDA rotors. I’m extremely happy with them. Zero dust, great stopping.
I’m told the Peders ceramics are the same as Akebono.
Wanting to change the rotors and pads on my 2013 D4 SDV6 and looking for recommendations as to which brand are worthwhile.
Had in mind the'4x4 Survival' heavy duty rotors and pads as I need an emphasis on towing.
I know rotors/pads vary quite a bit in pricing, but I'm not necessarily after the best .. just something better than OEM.
I'll probably just start off with the front set first.
I've had the '4x4 Survival' on my D2 for some years and found them to be quite good.
Is it worthwhile going ceramic?
I'm open to suggestions.

2010 TDV6 3.0L Discovery 4 HSE
2007 Audi RS4 (B7)
Im the same as jeffster, get the rotors locally and the pads from RockAuto
Cheapest I've ever found
Are the Akebono pads (EUR1479) suitable for the larger front discs for the SDV6? As opposed to the smaller rotors for the 2.7 motor?
Cheers
Goldey

SubscriberDBA rotors and TRW ceramic pads. Excellent braking and no dust.
Bought the pads from Advanced Factors in UK a couple of years back and they don’t appear to be available anymore. Will likely try Akebonos next time around.

I went non OEM a few years ago and used a mechanic I'd known for years. He doesn't do a shed load of European cars so he uses a company that recommends and supplies parts that can be used as an alternate.
I ended up with RDA rotors (RDA7468D Slotted) and non OEM pads (Not sure what brand - receipt only quotes a generic part number). I experienced brake fade under heavy braking .... coming down through hill country for example. Within a week I started developing a shudder. This progressed to the point that the car was almost undrivable. No questions asked, the mechanic replaced the rotors but to no avail, as I had the same problem within a few days.
I'd read great reports about the DBA T3 rotors, so I asked Gary if he could source some. Never looked back. The non OEM pads still appear to be the week link, with a bit of squeaking at low speed and quite a bit of dust.....and still a bit of fade but nowhere near as bad as before. The T3s are still in great nick years later.
So, it's interesting that a couple of guys on here are reporting no issues with RDA equipment. Bad batch maybe?
Either way, I'll stick with the T3s and source an alternate pad when the time comes.
Cheers,
Kev.
