Thread: Getting an air hose from engine bay to rear cargo

Being that its just an airline, I would zip tie it to a chassis rail the whole way. Don't tie it to anything else, if the airline gets caught you want the tie to snap, not a fuel line or harness.

You could come up the rear behind the tail lights easily enough if I recall correctly.

Why do you want it in the cargo area? Why not just with the trailer plugs?

Not an airline but a power cable from the battery to the rear - where ever possible I ran it along the top of the chassis - between body and chassis - where ever possible cable tied to power cables already there and of course the chassis - not exposed and never damaged. I did not go up into the cabin at the rear but you will find somewhere or a drill hole with a sealing grommet will work.

I have done this, although with a modified OEM tank in the middle of the setup tucked inside the chassis rail.

As others have said, tied to the chassis rail. I ran mine across and down the firewall into the wheel well, then back. There is a large sealing grommet in the bottom of the tool stowage compartment in the rear.

hi David, thanks for that. Would really appreciate more pics if you have?

I also have a 2nd air tank on the drivers side and although my compressor is in the rear left hand cargo pocket i ran the airline along the hoses for the rear AC on the drivers side sill and across under the car above the spare wheel recess and across to the LH tail light and thru the grommet.
My hose fitting is on the rear bar so another length of hose going thru the tail light grommet.

Just took these few shots to show where I ran my hose. Thee reason there is a tee at the firewall is that I have an outlet mounted next to my 2nd battery as well as the one at the back. For the run along the chassis I have my tank there so I left that part out and the area under the cubby at the back is pretty busy so couldn't take a useful shot there (as per the other thread I used a bulkhead connector with large mudguard washers and Sikaflex to go up through the hole after removing the grommet).

The hose is braided Teflon (which is a bit overkill) and I also covered it with other hose in different areas for extra protection.

Ended up going down the chassis rail and up through the tail light grommet easy enough. Pretty happy with the end result.
