Talking Diagnostics for D4 Screen Display Showing Microphone Locked in Privacy Mode

Since gaining possession I have had an issue with calls having virtually non existent outgoing speech volume.

I own an Android phone that patches via Bluetooth to the LR4 with no difficulty.

My wife has an Iphone which also patches via Bluetooth, it does not have the low volume issue.

Connection of my phone and entering the connection screen results in the Microphone Icon being displayed with a slash through it. Pressing this Icon has no effect.

Today I went through the process of programming the Speech Recognition Function. Testing revealed everything functions without fault.

A web search revealed many owners have experienced difficulties with the Bluetooth Module however their symptoms did not totally duplicate what I am seeing.

Hoping someone may be able to point me in a direction to rectify this.

Open the Bluetooth function on your phone, push gear icon next to the car connection. Check that Calls and Audio are turned on.

Thx Rod Afraid this is not the problem. I will confirm the wiring to the microphone was not compromised when I installed additional wiring in the roof console.

The fact that the touch screen Privacy Icon does not function has me concerned.

An Answer To Some Of The Questions

Land Rover has a lot of muffed owners concerned that callers cannot hear their speech. i was one of these people until I came across this link which is relevant to Android phones:

How to fix low Bluetooth volume on Android - Mobile Internist

Since configuring this phone setting, outgoing speech volume has considerably improved using hands free.

Whether an iphone has a like setting I am yet to establish.

I just followed the steps in your link for my Samsung G21. Dead easy to follow. Now to try the bt in the car....sometimes it's hard to hear others and sometimes they can't hear me. Will report back.
