Thread: Fault Code P115A-68 (2D) Low fuel level - forced limited pow

I know the D4's have this function to make people top up the tank so that they don't end up having to prime the fuel pump next to the road. I thought D3's didn't have this, mine doesn't as I've run the tank down till the fuel light came on a couple of times. For whatever reason the car thinks the tank is low, when you say 150km left are you judging by the tank level or the trip meter? Although if it was surging that seems to be low fuel or a blockage or perhaps a LP or HP fuel pump failing.

Both pumps were replaced 12 months ago, the KM,s left are what is shown on the instrument cluster, I thought this also mand will drop in 20 litres from a jerry this morning and see what happens.

Presumably the fuel level sensor is faulty unless the gauge itself is showing empty.

I’m thinking if it was saying 150 till empty, probly means 15 litres left, gauge would show quarter if not under, so with travelling fuel sloshing about, my opinion is it’s just low on fuel and needs a drink.

Well all seems to be sorted, my initial interpretation of the IID seems to be correct, that when the fuel gauge shows empty it triggers a sensor to tell the ECU to force limited power or force shutdown.
In this case I had 130 km's allegedly still in hand so there must have been a hiccup somewhere.
I have now filled the tank, better off for the experience/knowledge.

That's really odd. I've driven >30k's past where the computer reported 0 km to go and put 83L in the tank when I rolled into the servo. No errors, no reduction in power. Admittedly I had everything off and was feathering the throttle as lightly as possible so I might not have noticed a "reduction in power", but still no errors.

Same in my D4. I found there’s around 80km 8L left after 0km. Never hit the level error.

I suspect the OP has a problem related to the level sensor. Waiting to see if it happens again.

Was the low fuel warning message issued?
