Are you sure the turbo drain line modification has been done? With EGR and integral catch can in the system, you will inevitably get oil inside the intake tract including intercooler. After the drain line relocation this is very much reduced. If you could blank off and map out the egrs, it should go away altogether.
And yes, you do need to give it an Italian tune up, these 3.0L diesels do not like stop start driving. Take it for a long all day 100kmh run, the car will thank you for it.
