Initially lost upper tailgate release and occasional camera function, but as this was overcome using key fob, it wasn't an immediate problem. Could just replace the microswitch but felt better replacing the harness & switch. Harness arrived without the rear-view camera connection. 

Over the next six months the intermittent camera failure became permanent.
After failing as reversing out of a parking spot, I gently nudged vehicle behind me, denting rear plastic skirt & panel. Insurance claim $700 excess.
The home carport requires me reversing in from access road as the access road is narrow as is the carport opening. Well after reversing and gently nudging opening to a new position twice, with rear mounted spare wheel carrier, I was informed to fix the camera or sell the D4! ($600 repair to carport)
Whilst being serviced had my Indy check camera circuit, with the verdict of new harness being required. 
Apparently, the optic fibre is prone to issues, and as this is an integral item in the sensory circuits, you also loose proximity sensors.
Received replacement harness from wrecker this morning only to be faced with access to upper tailgate panel issue.
Another chapter in being a Disco owner.....
