First up mate, get a gap tool so you can read out what's going on and reset the code etc.
Then you can make an informed diagnosis

SupporterOn our trip to Darwin and got a P0088 code forcing the car into limp mode. As I did not have a code reader I was towed back to Cloncurry. The code is cleared and the car runs ok but not sure what to address to ensure a reliable ongoing journey. Fuel filter was recently replaced.
any input or guidance would be appreciated as it is pretty scary going into limp mode with road trains coming at you. By the way I am towing a smallish 2 tonne Kimberley Karavan.

When you do get to Darwin, Leigh at Darwin Land Rover 54 Albatross St Winnellie is the man to go to. He is an independent operator but does the JLR warranty work. All the best for getting going again.

Supporterthanks for that thought. I hope to be in Darwin around 12 th of June. I spoke to Leigh as it turns out on another matter. I made a stupid mistake and dropped my spare wheel and wound up the cable without the spare and completely stuffed the winch. I ordered a new one from Leigh which I will be picking up. I will call him tomorrow to discuss the fuel rail issue.

Unfortunately it's likely the pump. You can try a fuel lubricant to settle the valve

SupporterThanks for the thought but going to Alice is a little too far from our route. I think we will be pushing on to Darwin with fingers crossed. The car runs perfectly so it s hard to understand that there is a real problem. I will get it fully diagnosed once I am in Darwin.
all the best
