Don't go to cold places, humans weren't designed to operate in conditions below +20⁰C.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

I think the intent from LR is if you need to stop your wipers freezing to the windshield, you should have sprung for the cold climate pack

Wots that, no wipers or screen?

Back in the olde days it used to be a piece of **** to do this so why do they (LR) need to make it more difficult? My D1 was also easy as........ .

Just because you live in God's own Country.

Although I'm not sure what would be the most expensive ie. Up anchor & move to Q or a new set of LR Wiper blades.

If there's frost or wet snow about, in winter in Japan we used to put sheets of cardboard on the windscreen under the wipers - but in the US and Canada they use the same external windscreen covers that we use for keeping the sun out. It's a lot easier to pull them off and shake them out than try to scrape ice off a windscreen, and the wipers don't stick to it. I've had up to 50cm of snow on my car in the mornings and powder snow is no problem getting off the car, you just need a squeegee.

Don't use things like window cleaner or metho on your windscreen unless you want to destroy your paint and rubbers, and I've never cracked a windscreen from putting hot water on it or ever heard of it happening, even before laminated windscreens.

Drifta make a custom made external D3/D4 windscreen protector which and double as a matress - I have one and use it all the time, particularly in summer. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth it.

I guess it would be a tad difficult sleeping on one's windscreen overnight, or any other time really.

My Mother-In-Laws Ice-cold heart begs to differ.
