As you can imagine, it wasn't perfect and rust-free and we flew back to Sydney the next day.

We drove to Oaky to look at a “perfect” Dunny Dore for one of the boys.
Got there and it had scratches and dents here and there, upholstery torn in one area.
I opened the boot and there were two rims in it with tyres worn down to the steel, looked like they had been used for burn outs.

We walked back to our car and drove home.It was a good lesson for the son.
The only reason we went was because he wanted a manual, and there were not many around.

Anyway, back on topic,D4 8 speed was MY13,which came out later in 2012.Same time 2.7 L was dropped and 8 speed low output 3.0L replaced it.
So May 2012 could well be 6 speed or a slight chance a very early 8 speed.

    In the UK,I stand corrected,but I think all D4 were 8 speed,and there were no D4 2.7L.

My 6sp has paddle shifters too - so don't use this as a measure on the number of gears the car has. The rotary dial, in a Disco, is always an 8 speed. The water gets murkier if you start looking at Range Rovers...
