I don't do my own maintenance and so paying labour for a plastic one to be changed every 3 years (due to the heat up here) it has paid for itself. I note the Ali-express version is screwed together.

Its $52 inc postage versus $550 ? TRS one is also screwed together.

Indeed it is. Mine is not screwed together. They did stop selling them for a while AFAIK so that may have been when they changed construction. I would say the $52 plus postage is no more of a lottery than using the plastic original part...

Quite possibly, looks like they did a direct cast of the plastic part.

That's what mine certainly looked like. Bought in August 2018.

I've just ordered one. ~$50 delivered. Frankly all it has to do is have adequately machine surfaces for the car side and decent seals between the two housing halves and it can't be more fragile than the OE plastic model.

Yep, i was going to buy one but i put a new genuine one on last year so shouldn't need one any time soon - good for a spare though.

Even new plastic ones can crack and leak a few days after installation!
