I also tapped into the Aux Input wiring harness that runs from the head unit to behind the passenger footwell panel. Just set the Android head unit to max volume and you should have no sound issues.

There is a detailed write up on the Disco3 forum on how to find and tap into it. It is the red, blue and black wires on grey plug behind the footwell panel (blue left, red right, black common), or you can pull out the head unit and tap into at the radio end.

Yes and it charges the IPod and turns it off when power goes off.

When using the IPhone volume is also not an issue as you turn up the volume on the iPhone

I went into the wiring behind the head, but as I also have the Aux input I had to fabricate a dummy plug to put in there. The Aux socket is a shorting socket designed to ensure there is no induced noise while nothing is plugged in, so it shorts both channels to ground.

As you don't have an Aux input you won't have that
The head is easy enough to get out and the wiring can be tapped in to the harness easily enough.

I think I ended up unplugging the Aux connector under the console trim, in order to achieve the same outcome as a dummy plug. Means little fingers in the back seat don't **** up my music listening

Same, popped it out and unplugged. Never used it anyhow.
