    Hi,
    Had my TDV6 nearly 3 years, 92000km. TDV6 is far, far, far better than the TD5. Get around 11 to 12l/100km around town. Around 9 some times 8 if i take it easy on highway trips, just me, no load. I get 13l/100km towing a 16.5Ft 1.7t Caravan. And the best part, around 19l/100km in Low range out in the bush in the very rough stuff or in soft sand up the beach. Have had absolutly no problems at all with the Engine or Gearbox (6sp Auto). Had a few minor electrical/computer problems and early air suspension problems, but all that is fixed and had no problems in a very long while. Any issues have only been minor niggly little things, nothing to stop me getting home. Get one, you will wear the permagrin.
    D3 owners only know what that is.

    [QUOTE=Steve Jillett;751247]G'day Bruiser,

    I have had my TDV6 for 13 months with 43000km on the clock. We have just moved upto the NT from VIC so our fuel usage has increased a little bit due to the warmer weather. My figures around town are about 11.5 l/100km. On the highways up here we can do 140 and even at that speed I am getting just over 10. Towing my 1.6 ton boat I get about 16 l/100km. All up we are absolutely rapped with the Disco 3. Of interest was that I have just had a snorkel fitted, when I drove home after getting the snorkel installed down in Vic(it was a cold night) I managed to average 7.8 l/100km for a two hour trip. I am not sure if it was the colder air or the effect of the snorkel. I haven't had anything near that since, the car was lightly loaded with only me in it. Overall all though it is an excellent car and nothing has gone wrong with it.

    Cheers

    Wow 7.8L/100K out of a 2.4 tonne 4WD would have to be a record!
    Do you think the snorkel was responsible? The ram effect of a properly designed snorkel at highway speed (as well as the cold denser air) would have to help engine breathe better & less backpressure from turbocharger.

    Can anyone expand on this? Anything that helps economy when diesel is approaching the price of beer! has to be investigated. PS I brew my own beer(pretty good) & maybe I should brew my own diesel.

    Cheers..Bruiser

    I got 7.8l/100km ages ago on a cold night on a 75km run. I think i had a light tailwind too.

    That was before the roofrack. Now the best I have done is 10.0l
