I had am look on landrovertechinfo.com - the GTR site which has all the installation information for the accessories on it and cannot see where any configuration of the computer is necessary to enable the lights. You need to register to access the site but it is free to view the accessory manuals and handbooks.
Also available thouugh www.ownerinfo.landrover.com with no login

    Regards,
    Tote

I assume you mean driving/spot lights and not the fog lights. I fitted a set of Lightforce XGTs myself, using the LR switch kit (which you have to cut the dash to fit). I made an earlier post on which wires to connect the relay to so that they are legal, eg only operate on high beam. Did not have any problems with having to enable anything with the computer.

    Hi all,
If u are fitting the factory wiring loom, you WILL need to enable the Driving/Aux lights function.

If u are wiring your own loom then obviously you dont need to enable anything.

Tote from memory the instructions on GTR dont mention anymore to enable anything with IDS. Its just a given. Even with the factory instructions in the box u just get a little picture of the IDS computer on the back page if u are lucky!

have to agree, we had ours fitted by LR and the price was something like $600 and was done prior to deliver. I am very disspointed in them as the light output is quite dim compared other others. They are noticeably yellow. I think the looms are not up to the correct guage and feel it should be coming off the battery via a relay as we allo used to do. Not sure where they feed directly off but appears to be a substantial voltage drop accros it.

    cheers

It cost me $300 for Barbagello's to wire up my old lightforce 240's with the factory loom including the nice switch kit that "Brick " posted up. Pretty happy as they did a great job and i didnt have to muck around wiring it in myself.

    Hey Peter,

I have the Landrover Spotties and yes they are not great for the money.
The way to go is put some Narva Blue Halogen Bulbs in and that does help a fair bit. They seem to light better with same power output.
    Cheers Dave

    Dave,
thanks for that mate, was thinking along those lines but also would like to put i in a new harness from the spots to a better realy that feeds directly off the battery.

Think the wire guage and the original harness not being direct from the battery is half the trouble.

what wattage globes did you fit?

    cheers
    Peter

    Hi Pete,

    Narva Arctic Blue, H7 12v-55w (ADR Approved)>> Part: 48607BL2.
The Arctics give you double distance, Eg: 1600 normal & 4000 with these.
No increase on power or heat & also suitable for polycarbonate headlamps.
Its a cheaper option & the blue /white effect offers a very clear direct light
    Cheers Dave
