Finally got the replacement parts yesterday afternoon, started installation this morning taking it easy, by the time I finished around 6 all I have left to do is fit the thermatic fan and fit the aircleaner assembly.
All went well, and according to the GTR instructions, timing pins and aligning pins fitted when they were supposed to, the motor turned over by hand without hitting anything.
Starter motor out and in is a bit of a fiddle but got there OK.
Only problem I see at the moment is the alternator terminal insulation was broken, I suspect that happened when the dealer installed a new replacement while under warranty, I have insulated it but have put it on my short list of things to have fixed.
Tomorrow morning (when I am less tired) I'll see whether all the work has been successful................................
