    Milenco Grand Aero - 0 W.A. roadtrain 1

So much for the Milenco's. Despite due care and attention in attaching the mirrors, the drivers side mirror was loosened enough by the airblast of a roadtrain going the other way. The mirror did a slow motion slide onto the road. Scratch one Milenco. Back to the drawing board.

    Hello NTB.
Ive a 2010 RRS TDV6 and tried to fit some Milenco Grand Aero Mirrors this afternoon at a shop. They would not clamp onto the mirror as the Black Surround on the RRS mirror is a wedge cross section so the more the Milenco bracket it tightened the more it forces itself off the RRS mirror. I'm wondering if the D4 Mirror has the same wedge surround or if its a different mirror with a flat surround.

The Milenco mirrors get great reviews everywhere so I'm keen to find a solution to this problem.

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Looking at the parts catalogue the FL2, RRS and D4 share the same parts (including the shroud) for the mirror so, I would say yes, they are the same.

Milenco grand aero clamp onto to our 2008 fl2 fine - the are a good mirror not much vibration and give a clear view - takes a little while to get used to the shape which makes things seem a different distance to the car mirror but it's not really a drama

    Hello Orangepop,

A couple of the photo's at the start of the thread give you a idea of how the mirror clamps to the mirror surround. It is on a angle but has not been a issue, I do make sure the feet of the clamp are fully inserted to gain maximum grip.

Thanks NTB, I think I need to have a closer look at a friends D4 &
see if there is a physical difference to the RRS. I phoned the dealer & they said the the D4 is a totally different mirror. A quick inspection will answer my question.
I also sent an email to Milenco in the UK as they state that they fit all cars & 4WD's & being in the UK should have plenty of experience with all Land Rover models. Thanks again for your quick reply.

Arrow caravans at virginia (QLD) let me try them on the car before I bought them (I too wanted to check how they fit and that they didn't foul when the mirrors folded in) was all sweet so bought them - from memory they were about the same price ax on the internet

Thanks for your comments SBD4, Meken & NTB. I have not received a reply from Melenco UK as yet and The RR local Dealer maintained that the D4 & RRS mirrors are totally different. The proof of the pudding will be for me to get over to my friends place and compare the RRS to his D4, watch this space…..
