Are there any LR accessories which are good?

    Hi all

Close to the purchase of the D3. jsut wondering if there are any worthy accessories that are actually worth buying from the dealer?

was looking at the RAI but now gone off that...probably won't need it.

what about the under body protection?...anything else? ipod doo-dad? rear ladder? lamp guards (they don't look like they'd do anything)? stuff for general touring/4x4....nudge bar (not looking to knock off roos...jsut pedestrians..kidding)..nudge bar keeps 20 foot spear grass off the paint

and there seems to be stacks of genuine D3 stuff but it's not on the website or brochure. does anyone have a comprehensive list?"

    Cheers
    eugene

My D3 goes in for service in a couple of weeks so I am looking at accessories now.

For starters, I think you should go for the E-diff as you cant have seconds thoughts later...

Accessory wise, depends if you buy an 09 spec as they seem to have more factory add-ons than the 08...

I got roof rails so I can fit roof racks, sunroof, rear AC, Mats etc....

Rear boot liner is probably worth while....

Safari snorkel seems to be the go vs. the landy model...

I will post some pics of mine once it has some neew additions...

would love some of the G4 add-ons but the are pretty exxy....

    good luck!

    thanks def90

the car is already built and sitting in the showroom, so no options now...just accessories.

Load retention system (net thing for the boot area)?
    Waterproof Seat Covers?
    Side Steps?
Ladder...i think i'm getting one of these for sure!!!!
    Under Body Protection?

    Hi Schmoogene,
You must admit that it's a very hard question to answer when you don't give any indication of intended usage. For instance, a ladder w/o a roofrack seems pointless.

    More detail means more assistance.

RE the ladder windcheetah make one which IMHO looks better than the LR one.
I've got one fitted and a windcheetah rack which comes with it's own roof rails saving the purchase of $700 LR ones.

I've had a look and this is the best photo I've got of the ladder, I'll take another picture when I get my truck back at the end of the week (hopefully)

    Regards,
    Tote

Don't get the LR roof rails. You can get Rhino rack ones for a lot less. The RAI is good for dust but not water.
Remember you pay LCT on all additions you buy with it. You may be better getting them later.

    That's not strictly true, Caver.

The RAI is good for water, but not if you have the lower end of the RAI totally immersed. Then water would enter.

If you keep moving, it is unlikely that water will enter. I for one would not enter water that was going to be permanently over the lower end of the RAI even with a bow wave, as that would probably be at windscreen height.

    Outback touring?
You'll be needing the adjustable rod system then?
A few weeks off yet unfortunately. Be selling via Mitchell Bros.
And if towing you'll need one their hitches too.

    the Mitchell Bros tow hitch.

I won't be needing the suspension modifiers as I have coils.
