I got an extra set of tie-down rings ($130 for 6), which makes it very versatile, as they can be positioned anywhere on the floor rails or side rails. My awning (an ARB model) protrudes approx 400mm forward of the front of the rack, but being fixed at 4 points along the length of the rack, it is firmly held to the vehicle. No damage so far!

No question, it looks good that low to the roofline. At twice the cost of anything else on the market, it is pretty rich though.
I will hold my decision until I see one in the flesh.

At this stage I am favouring a Frontrunner 3/4 rack with the short legs, and a hardcase awning like the EziAwn. The hardcase should provide sufficient rigidity on a shorter rack, ( although the Expedition is only a 3/4 rack also ) and better protection for the awning when pushing through scrub. ( that's the theory so far anyway ! )

I put a mesh floor on mine so it could take a canvas rooftop bag.

If you're not, it's likely that most of your electronics would be swamped anyway, before you ingest water.

    Gordon,

Can you explain this a bit more please?

After the air box, the hose turns 90deg to point down and 'sits' on the coupling below - it's not sealed.

Mine is actually for sale (as it won't fit the RRS) if you're interested .....

In which case, how does it not draw dust into the engine?

I'm going to go crawl over the engine this weekend I think!

I'm interested. Are you back in Perth yet ? Can you send me a pm and I will try to get out this weekend to view if that is possible ?
Looking on the Uk site, it seems there is an optional floor ? Doesn't it have anything but a few rails ?
