With a lot of difficulty! Keep trying, eventually you'll get it! It's a poor design but once you've done it it's easy the next time.

Installed.. Those rear brackets are fiddly but overall looks solid and a neat fit.

The technique that worked in the end on the rear brackets.

 - tape the rear brackets to the roof trim so you don't need to hold it.
 - Slide the capture bracket piece in that's attached to the wire and using some pressure on the wire against the opening where you slid it in from, hold it there when alligned with the hold for the bolt.
 - may take quite a few goes to get the bolt to catch the capture bracket but it should eventually. Only needs a 1/10th of a turn to initially engage
 - stop swearing..stretch the legs and back. The rest takes only a few minutes to put in.
 - easiest to put in and remove the barrier with the rear seats down at floor level and in through the 2nd row passenger doors.
